Weak

Puzzling for all the wrong reasons

Okay, boys and girls, let us go off to a far away kingdom where battles are resoved Bejeweled style.
You start off with some troops, and a quest to get rid of boxes of evil by beating up the leaders of other kingdoms.
Each battle is a match three game with seven different types of icons. Match three icons and you will collect them (except for the sword which does damage directly to the enemy). Different types of warriors need different types of icons to be matches (the knight needs crosses, and the archers need leaves for instance)
When you get enough of the icons, you can attack and do damage to the enemy. If two or more of your warriors are ready to attack you do multiple attacks for more damage.
Along the way, you play minigames to get better trops, items and spells - like block certain attacks, or you might get to go again after you match three sword icons.
Remember, a lot of what you can do, the AI can do as well, so be careful which kingdoms you try to take over.
Now, if the makers of this game just left it like that, it would be a good pick for casual gamers. But they put in some features that, well, puzzles me.
First off, the AI has the ability to change one icon on screen. Far too often this change would allow the AI to make a move, make a great combo, and kill off one of my warriors. But this abitily is not for the player. In other words, the AI cheats.
Another problem I had was the limitation of what forces I could use to attack a kingdom.
If I wanted to save the land from evil, I would like to use my best leader and best warriors. But the makers of this game won't let me do it because it busts a point limit
The point limit right now is 110 points. My best leader costs 106 points. This means I only have 4 points, which get me the lowest, weakest forces to attack with. I don't get the logic behind this limitation.
Puzzle Kingdom had promise, but the cheating AI and point limitations ruin it. SKIP IT

I love puzzles and games along this line but this one was a serious let down. Didn't seem to work the way the directions and walk through's I found said, didn't make much sense on how it seemed to work. Not something I'd recommend to people.

This one is ok, not like Puzzle Quest at all. Takes a little getting use to the style, but ok to play once you understand how it works.

cheap knockoff of Puzzle Quest

I expected that if I liked Puzzle Quest and Galactrix, I would love this game... after all it's released in full-cd version. However, the game is a cheap imitation. It's as if they put no time into it to make the graphics decent, and my wife and I turned up our noses at it very quickly.
