For this review, everyone who hates word games can get out now; there's nothing here that will change your mind.
Okay? They're gone? Good, because have I got a game for the rest of you.
Puzzle Challenge: Crosswords and More gives you crosswords, and more. I mean much more.
The crosswords come in three difficulty settings and two different sizes, so it's easy to find one that's right for you.
Also in this compilation is a word search of three different sizes.
There's also a Kriss Kross game where you fill in a pseudo crossword with words using logic.
There's also a number version of Kriss Kross and finally a game where you find all the black squares in a Crossword puzzle.
As you progress through the game, you unlock music and backgrounds, which felt like an afterthought (at least to me it does.)
But this compilation is all about content. You get dozens upon dozens word searches, crosswords, and so on. This game can keep players busy for hours.
But it also requires a steady hand to type in the right word, or to circle the hidden word, or to select which word to place in the grid.
Also, I would've liked an option to automatically save after every completed puzzle. And this game would be great if there's a multiplayer option.
Still, Crosswords and More promises - and delivers - a lot of fun, simple word games for only $30. BUY IT.

Most puzzles are way too easy

Controls are ok, as long as you have a steady hand, though you need to use the nunchuck solely for swithching from across to down in the crosswords. Seems they could have mapped that to a button on the remote or had an on-screen button. Soundtrack is typical Wii elevator techno. Unlockables are pointless - just more elevator music and backgrounds. The game gets a point just for not having annoying mandatory animations, sounds, or backgrounds.

The claim that they have several difficulty levels is deceptive. they give a difficulty rating to each group of puzzles, but I'd only give three groups a rating of over 3/10 (cryptics 10/10, codebreakers 7/10, and number cross 5/10). There are no regular crosswords that are the slightest bit challenging. I'm no crossword genius, but these puzzles are just to easy. The claimed 200 hours of gameplay hours is also deceptive. It would take about 50 - 60 hours to run through all 1011 puzzles

If you like really easy crosswords, this is a decent compilation. If you like crosswords that are challenging at all, try Merv Griffen's Crossword (it has an ordinary crossword mode).
