Game Basics This game's object is simple: line up four or more same-colored blobs to pop 'em, and avoid filling your screen all the way to the two marked "X" on the top. That's when the fun begins. Line 'em up well and create chains of 'em to send trash onto your opponent's screen--which increases exponentially depending on the amount of chain links you were able to pull off, of course.
Chains and Offsetting Just when your opponent is able to pull of a massive chain doesn't mean it's game over just yet--you can offset your opponent's chains! When you are about to receive trash from your opponent, you're given the chance to reduce the trash intake by creating a chain of your own, or just simply popping a set of 4 (if your chain is more powerful than your opponents, you'll erase all incoming trash AND send some back, ha!).
Fever Mode If you offset trash enough times in a round--seven times, to be precise--your character goes into "Fever Mode," which is a "last resort" with a set time limit and pre-set blobs that make easy chains; it puts your opponent under pressure to quickly counter to be able to enter a fever of their own--or perish at the onslaught of trash they'll receive if they're unable to counter it. At times the Fever Mode comebacks may seem a bit one-sided, but overall Fever makes matches chaotic and fun.
Conclusion This game's cast and overall presentation may seem a little too "cutesy," but it's definitely a very solid game past the weak storyline and (mostly) annoying characters (besides, you can also change to the Japanese voices if you get annoyed by the characters' bad English voices). A truly addictive game worth considering if you're a fan of puzzle games.
