Having game tested ATV racing games before, I came into this game with an open mind. Right off the bat, the production value of this game is apparent. In your face action, smooth controls and nearly flawless gameplay make this title easy to get into.
Unfortunately, after several hours of playing, and placing first in one event after the other, the game starts trailing off. Towards the end, your "coach" figure who pep talks you through each of the different stages stops talking to you and the games final stages feel anticlimactic. You don't feel like you're actually winning anything. It's just another race, and not in a good way, in a sort of, "what's the point?" kind of way. Although the game's "coach" figure tells you that you need to fine tune your vehicles for each race, it's not necessary, and the only time I ever failed a race was when I left to get a snack. The AI is very robotic in their racing styles, mobbing together around the track in sprints, and all of them doing tricks in unison after every jump.
The game looks great, but it's missing something important, unfortunately I can't quite put my finger on exactly what.
