Platforming goodness at it's best

For the longest time, platform games have been leaving me feeling empty. It all seemed like it was about useless fetch quests with no real fun. That all changed when I played Psychonauts.
Yes, the game is a traditional platformer. It's got big environments, lots of exploring, and of course, lots of jumping. It's even got the traditional search for items. But what sets apart this game for others of it's ilk is that this game has character. It is one of the funniest games I've played.
Graphically, the game is great. It isn't the most gorgeous thing on the PS2 but the environments are just as weird as the characters that inhabit the world and they all look great.
The gameplay is spot on. Easy to control and very precise. You couldn't ask for more.
I really feel this game transcends genres. Even if you don't like platformers, this game has such "soul" that I think anyone should play it.
