Very Good

Great fun

Prototype 2 is a great game that delivers all that was promised and more. This game puts you in the shoes of Sergeant James Heller, a military man that was on a mission in the Red Zone when him and his team were ambushed by none other than Alex Mercer, the anti-hero of the first game. After a chase through the Red Zone, Mercer leads you to an alley where he infects you with the virus, making you the Prototype. After a web of lies leads you into doing his dirty work, the truth comes out and a battle begins between the two super-powered men. This open world adventure offers much to do in the three individual parts of NYZ. Although the story falls short of excellent, you will still want to pick this up if your looking for a good action/adventure game. The graphics are good and the abilities you gain from playing through the main story are satisfying and really add to the destructive power of Heller. The game never froze during my hours of playthrough, and there was barely any pop-in textures around the city. Overall this is a great game and I recommend it to any fan of open-world adventures.

Fun but nothing special

I played and beat the first Prototype and so I naturally had to do the same with this one. The story is pretty neat, the cut scenes are amazingly done but the gameplay is just like the 1st one. You run around doing the same mission after mission of hunting someone, taking their identity and getting into a secure location to destroy it. It's really annoying how repetitive the missions are but its still fun to play and has some really cool animations.

this game is very fun 2 play, but over time it seems 2 get real repetitive almost evry mission seems like your doing the same thing over and over,the only reason you keep playing is 2 get new upgrades the story is off alot i think. other than that the game is extremly fun 2 play the graphics are good 4 such a huge sandbox game. you can pretty much do whatever you feel which is great. 4 sure its worth a rent if you just want 2 go crazy and f some stuff up this is your game.

I enjoyed playing this game. The controls were great and the story was good. Spoiler alert............. (The only thing about the story i didnt care for was killing Alex Mercer). Other than that i cant find anything wrong with the game so it gets high marks.

An honest game, with no frills.

Prototype 2 is one of those games, you know? It says, "here's what I am," and then it fulfills all of its promises. You'll run around a fictional version of New York City, slicing, eating, and gliding high above the rooftops. That's it, folks. That's what you'll be doing, and nothing more. From the smallest hidden collectible all the way up to the biggest mandatory mission, this game will plainly tell you where you need to go. This game is, "open world," sure, but it's no sandbox.

It plays pretty well, and the graphics, while not great, are passable. Jumping and gliding feels easy and fun, and so does combat. You'll have a good time in Prototype 2, but this kind of game is the reason we're paying for rentals: it's not worth buying.

very good game played many like it including the first prototype. combat flows smoothly while there is an obscene amount of gore making for satisfying kills. above average storyline tieing in with the first game beautiful cinematic scenes. lack of bosses was disappointing side missions are very repetitive and get very boring very fast. all in all though its a solid game that i enjoyed playing and would recommend to anyone who enjoys hack and slash action adventure free roam games

great game, from jumping to throwing and punching its all a lot of fun, but sometimes feels tedious when it comes down to doing the missions. Go to point A now to point B consume this guy consume that guy, go to point B. Characters are a bit forgettable but overall this game is a blast if you like to chop up and throw ragdolls :D

I played and beat the game yesterday. All I can say it was good to the end. But there were some problem feel like I am doing same thing over and over again, the caught is your building your power for several missions, and the last battle. If you like sandbox and feeling like true bad to the bone. This game will keep you going. It's slow in the beginning but you keep it going doing blacknet missions, you'll enjoy it.

Overall it's pretty much the same game as before, for better or worse. It does improve on the old in many ways and when it all comes together you feel like an unstoppable beast. Sadly the targeting is wonky at best and when things get chaotic it can get you killed. The story is bare bones and one note like an average action flick. In the end it's certainly worth a weekend rental but there is little reason or desire to play longer than that.

This has to be one of the best games I have played in a while, one of those cant wait to get home to play games, the physics of the game are amazing, in that you jump off a tall building and when land you make a large indent in the ground, running up he sides of building produces a similar effect of glass smashing as you make your way up. There are a few odd camera reflex angles when you run up the side of the building and get caught in a corner or try to switch direction while running up the walls...but only sometimes.....so here are no game freezing hard lock glitches that I came across.....I give it a 9.5

This game starts off as a lot of story line but it immediately sucks you in. I could play this game easily for hours. Going from zone to zone is a lot of fun. The only real downside is the skill trees aren't as progressed as one would like. You can't play this game twice and have a totally different character. It will always be the same basic game.
Story line keeps you wrapped up in the game the whole time and there is a lot of free roam options. However this game gets progressively easier as your character becomes more god-like.

Glad to see gamers know good and fun games. The reviews are way more favorable then IGN, and others rated this game. As it should be. I had a blast playing this game. I love comics and superheroes, so this is the closes anyone has truly come to making the experience real. Get this game, you wont be disappointed.

I got the first game on Gamefly before I got the second, and this one is even better! I never really felt like the first game actually conveyed a New York that was suffering a huge viral outbreak and quarantine. People would just be walking by like nothing's going on, with the occasional people limping for some reason, and that's about it. With Prototype 2, they really did a good job. Everyone's wearing masks so they don't get the virus, people are living in ghettos and containment camps, there's Blackwatch propaganda everywhere, groups of protesters. Sometimes you can actually find people talking to each other about what's going on. It was great. Oh, and I love how they got Richard Steven Horvitz, the guy who voiced Invader Zim, to do one of the civilians' voices. Man, that was funny. Anyway I love how they let you assign one power to X and one power to Y, it's incredibly helpful and a major improvement over the first game because it allows you to do awesome combos you wouldn't be able to do before. The story was pretty good, I don't like how Alex Mercer ends up being the big bad antagonist, though. I liked going around and doing all the extra, collectible stuff and blacknet activities which was really kinda clever, because instead of just going and doing a race or you do some random challenge to see how many enemies you can kill in a set time, they actually work the activities into the story. The only bad things are: You only get to explore HALF of Manhattan this time around, I don't even get why. Alex Mercer stopped the nuke in the first game, right? So what happened to the rest of Manhattan that made it become a "Dead Zone"? Also, they STILL recycled civilian screams from Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction. I guess it was too hard to get a microphone and get some actors and go "Here, scream into this mic like there's a big scary monster," Luckily the recycled screams were only ambient, unlike the first game. All I have to say is this is the best hack n slash game I've played in a long time. It's GTA on steroids/ with a sci fi twist. I just wish the main story was longer

They killed off a hero the wrong way..

I appreciate the role reversal but they have truely killed off a hero. To make Alex a villian only destroyed everything you did in the first one. Heller is amazing and fighting for good causes but he is not a hero..He never acted nor was a hero in the beginning, the middle and the end. The game has changed the atmosphere alot, the graphics are strong and the detail in fear when the crowds see you power up is amazing. It is addictive when you have stress that you want to relieve...especially with the claws and fist.

I will say this..had they let Heller believe in Alex and allowed them to team up and then take themselves out to rid the virus for good restoring most back to normal...destroying the governments system for good and allowing his daugther and Alex's sister to start a change..I may have liked it and respected it more..But you guys killed a hero to me..So for fun i will play this but their is only one prototype and that is Alex..Sorry..

I didnt play the first one cuz i figured the graphics wouldnt be that great. This installment was ok graphics wise..kinda gritty like early resident evil games. I had a bit of a hard time keeping up with the story, short attention span of mine. But the action was good, the fights were awesome. Finisheres were so satifying. Good rent. All and all its a good game.

I had to buy this game once i got it. I liked it just as much as the first one maybe even better. Working on the the extra missions makes it hella fun also all the destruction u can do in the city is tight.

When i got the game ,i pulled out the first prototype for a replay ..this game connects to the story well,the mechanics are better,power upgrade system is balanced better,...of course graphics and sound are better ..and the city's are detailed and beautifully done ..my wallpapers on my computer are from this game ..well done .. best experience since BINARY DOMAIN
