Horrible

Bad version of the first one

The first one was ok, but wasn't as good as Crackdown(because theyre pretty comparable). This one is a terrible version of the first one.They make it way too easy to get around the boring city where you can climb buildings and fly from the very beginning. I couldn't handle how boring the gameplay is. No point in having an open world if you cant interact with it. +controls sucked really bad, but the graphics are really good.

Never played the first Prototype, and glad I didn't, felt like i was playing one of the Hulk games without any of the delight i got from those. Just absolutely disappointed with Prototype 2 especially since it was so highly regarded amongst Gamefly users. Maybe if i were 10 years old i could've enjoyed it, but i'm not

This game has basically no reason of why someone will even want to play the game. All you do is run around climb buildings and shoot people or steal their identity for particularly no reason. It tells you to find a doctor which is where I lost interest in this game. Which is still at the beginning of the game. I give this game a 1 since its horrible in every way I can think of.

I was interested in this game because i saw a few good and bad reviews. Now that i've played it i realize why the bad ones were in existence. It's gameplay is long and boring, the combat system is simple, I could teach the controls to a kitten, and it's story is lengthy and dull, you can ski the cut scenes which aren't spaced out much and they get annoying. Overall based on story, simplicity, and controls, I give it a -20, but since they don't allow that i gave it a 1. [ChelseaGamer]

I really wanted to like this game but the timed missions are plain stupid. Lazy game design! I would of preferred more in depth missions. I don't want to play Mario Brothers!

This game, frankly, sucks. It has added only a few features that the original Prototype didn't, and cut out many more. The upgrade system is stilted and lacks creativity. The main character is supposed to be sympathetic but comes across as a hypocritical piece of scum even worse than ZEUS/Mercer(not the terrible clone in this game) and far more monstrous. Alex Mercer has been reduced to nothing more than a cardboard cut-out villain, and really all of the characters feel like they're made of cardboard.

The entire game had a dozen different plotholes, operated on blatant magic, seemed to forget everything else that had happened half a dozen times, the ending itself made almost zero sense.

This entire game? It was failure. It was a complete and total failure. Whatever fun there is in blowing stuff up, I could've gotten that five times better in the original Prototype. Whatever interest may be gathered from the plot will be quickly lost with either a good idea for what makes a good plot or with a basic understanding of what happened in the original game.

Do not buy this game. I would suggest that you don't even rent it, but I really do want to see just how many people realize just how much of an abject failure this was. Absolutely ANYTHING you could enjoy about this game you will find in the first one, probably in better form.

wow i dont know why this sequel to such a bad game was even created if it wasnt for lack of decent games this year i wouldnt have had it on my q just like last year with that being said if u like gta rip offs they shouldve called this game wolverine wannabe the open world is lame it is ruined with borinness and redundantness if your lookin for fun on your console maybe u should just play gta also this game is not pretty to look at the graphics are nintendoish

The first one was something new, this one just offers nothing, story is horrible, main guy is horrible, you do the same stuff you do in the first except I really don't feel like doing it again.

Same game as the first game just better graphics, kinda....What I mean by that is better graphics than the first game but not better graphics than games out right now, not even close actually. It just seems like the dressed up the first game and added a few new abilities to the game. Also the gameplay was literally the same as the first as well, consume this guy to get into this place over and over again....i recommend not buying it for sure but if your renting it might be worth your time if your willing.

This has to be one of the most boring games I have played in years. I usually keep away from this M for mature games aimed at children for good reason and I wish I had here as well. There aren't many redeeming qualities to this game, it has a cliche and predictable story(at least you can skip all of the cuts and speech), the voice acting is terrible, graphics are par, the game is as a whole is way way too simple, the fights and battles are all easy repetitive BS that require absolutely no creative thinking or skill. If there was multiplayer or any NG+ I could never bring myself to even check so I can't comment on that.

Don't bother with this game unless you're so terrible at video games you need a game to make you feel like your good and you can tolerate a stupid script and constant repetition.

I'll start this by saying I didn't play the first game in this series so maybe I missed out on something. I truly disliked Prototype 2 though. Besides the fact that the gameplay itself wasn't too interesting I found the story to be complete garbage. I don't need much of a story to keep me interested in a game but in this case I found myself rooting against my own character. I like a game to at least provide a cause for me to become sympathetic towards my character's position and to motivate me slightly to want my side to "win". There was none of that here and it caused me to become so disinterested that I sent the game back in just a few days.
Like I said, maybe I would have been more interested if I'd played the first game....I don't think so though. I don't even think Prototype 2 merits a rental, stay away IMO.

i enjoyed the first prototype game. very fun to run around a city with crazy powers and being able to destroy things in a fun manner. this game is same. exactly the same. and that's the problem.

the characters have no depth, and the entire world seems to built around black, red, and brown. i found myself forcing myself to play this game or else i'd fall asleep, something which happened quite a few times.

I didn't like this game at all! The controls kept reverting back to normal for vertical instead of inverted like I had it for every mission start. Just seemed lacking in a lot of areas.

This game is a huge waste. Sure the storyline borders on interesting but it really amounts to a Sci-Fi, Dumb Down verison of Grand Theft Auto. I am three missions away from finishing, but Im just sick of wasting my time. NOT WORTHY A PLAY!

The first one was a blast. This one is a lot more complicated. The controls for gliding and air dashing are flipped which became very annoying. And you can no longer hold down a charged jump which was extremely handy in the first one for when you wanted to release it at just the right moment. And some of the bosses are stupidly hard to kill. A lot of new cool and awesome features but not worth it for the drawbacks. You guys really screwed this game up.

I was really excited about this game, it looked so cool. Then after playing it for about 30 minutes I realized I was playing Infamous (1&2). It's the exact same game without having a choice of being good or evil. Very dissappointed.

Prototype 1 with different main character

Completely the same game as the first. The virus doesn't spread to a different major city like Chicago or Boston, so all the mapping and layouts were basically recycled from the first one. A few new enemies introduced but nothing that really grabs your fancy. I played through on hard and died maybe a dozen times, so it really wasn't much of a challenge. Speaking of challenges, the game did away with the medal scores for racing along rooftops and collecting items or finding people, which is a complete bummer. The game gives out achievements like candy, which shouldn't necessarily be the reason to play a game but it does create an incentive to some degree. Horrible story of a man looking for his daughter, that at random, was chosen and kept alive and never really killed... LAME. Played out plot and uninspiring game play make for a mirror image of the first game with a different main character. I am sure there are many other things I could say but I don't really care to waste more time on this review than I already have. Seriously a 4 at best.

Repetitive, and corrupt

Not a bad little time-waster, for as far as it goes. In my case that was probably two or three hours. The repetitiveness, though, kills it. More to the point I missed the sense from Prototype 1 of having to clean out infected mutant areas.

Here, instead of chiefly killing mutants, you're performing a kind of human cleansing, since the goal of the game is to murder a great number of soldiers. In order to make this remotely morally palatable, the game is constantly pushing the idea of retribution for atrocity -- these soulless military scum, it says, deserve to die. They're cruel, heartless. And you should go out and...and...eat them! Stop and think about that for a moment.

The problem was put succinctly over two hundred years ago by Voltaire: "Those who can make you believe in absurdities can make you commit atrocities." Thanks anyway, but I'd prefer my gaming to make me feel a bit less filthy than this tiresome mass-murder simulator.

the story was much worse than Prototype1, the story was kind of bad the main character was always angry as heck, didnt use alot of the good things from the previous game (armor, sheild while running, evolution points spent to gain abuilitys). it didnt feel quite as epic as the first game did after all the hype

Read all of the reviews, seemed like it would be a fun game but it didn't grab me. There's nothing wrong with it necessarily, I just thought it was a little mediocre. Never played the first.
