It's such an awesome game and not to be missed through gamefly, but the only complaint i have is over the length of combined main story and Blackwater side missions. It's such a shame because when you start to get really good at the game , it's almost over ...
...Pardon my morbid sense of humor. Anyway, this game gets an 8 from me mostly because it improves upon everything from the first: the graphics are better, the writing is ... well, less terrible, and the controls are smoother.
I'm not going to give you loads of paragraphs on how great this game is, or tear it apart, but I will tell you my fondest memory of the game:
I was being pursued by three Brawlers, and ran up the nearest building to get away--which just so happened to be the Empire State Building. Anyway, I ran all the way to the top, and decided to jump off the spire, in the vague hopes that they wouldn't be able to follow my supreme show of aerial acrobatics.
As I plummeted to the city streets in my rapid descent, I noticed that a Blackwatch Platoon had decided to roll in directly under the spot I was planning on using as a landing pad. I landed on a tank, and the Brawlers landed right next to me. I managed to lose them in the battle royale that then ensued.
Here are my pros and cons for the game:
+Decent graphics (vastly superior to the first games')
+Likable characters (I couldn't help but grow to like Heller as the game progressed)
+Smooth controls (Turning corners still isn't easy at high speeds, but now, flying through NY is far more entertaining and easier, and the powers are much improved)
+Tentacles / Bio-bomb (...Stringing peoples's torsos up to walls is fun. As is walking up to a guy, poking him, and making him explode.)
-The writing is still pretty bad (It may be improved over the first, but that's not saying much)
-The difficulty curve (I mean that I felt overpowered through almost ALL of the game. I used the Tentacles and Claws powers through 3/4 of the game! Barely touched the others, as they were unnecessary!)
-Grindy sidequests (This should be self-explanatory.)
If nothing else, you'll get an enjoyable weekend from this game; I did. And that's all I have to say about it.
