To much hand holding at the beginning of the game and the story wasn't all that grate. The Chartres are forgettable and not vary interesting. But all in all the gameplay is fun so a good rental but not for long term buy! Happy Gaming!!!

I would actually give it about a 7.75. After getting all the trophies in the first Prototype, I ended up really disliking it. I thought the gameplay just wasn't really there, especially when you're trying to do all the extra things like the events and playing on a harder difficulty.
If you've played the first one, you won't be seeing anything new here; it feels like the same story, same combat, same everything, just kind of "tweaked" to improve gameplay. I do like that though, it shows that the team understands what they did wrong in the first one and were trying to improve it.
If you haven't played the first one, this may not strike you as anything original; viral outbreak, you're part of the infected, military-ish guys trying to control things. Story isn't all that original, but it's decent enough. Gameplay wise, it's kind of a weird mesh of GTA and Infamous. You can not only use your powers but use guns and military vehicles (GTA) but the sandboxing is much more like Infamous; it's pretty fun to move around the city. It seems that the team was trying to focus on the gameplay, and I think they managed to mostly succeed in it.
But it isn't all great. There are other reviewers saying that missions are repetitive, and I agree. You're not really doing anything all that different for the most part. The control scheme I found to be a little clunky, the camera goes a little crazy on occasion, and the targeting system needs a little work. It's also fairly short: I finished it on Hard while doing all the extra stuff (collectables, side missions) and I think I spent about 15-20 hours on it.
But at the same time, you shouldn't be intimidated by Hard with this game. It's very doable, and I think you're going to get the most out of it if you play Hard (it kind of motivates you to finish all the extra stuff). There is also a NG+ feature, which can you carry over to Insane difficulty (which is also not that bad in NG+). So if you like the game, there is a bit of rep
