Now this is a title that has potential to be something great with just a little more effort. The graphics are o.k. The gameplay come use some tweaking here and there. The storyline is pretty good, but the gameplay could use a little more "Ummph". Overall a fairly decent rental title to get by those boring weekends, and to try something different for a change. I give it a 7 for effort. Hey, it's only 39.99, at least they didn't charge 60 bucks. A solid "rental" title.
People get hooked into the control scheme as a point of degrading this game. It's not true. This is a challenging game. I love the FMVs. The framerate and construction of this title is magnificent. Lots of people say, "just hit the LB and Spin" and you'll be okay...that's not correct, unless they made a review based on the demo.
I'm just playing through on Normal. I've already died 10 times. I'm at 40% Clear Ratio by the Save Game screen. This is great Japanime gaming! It definitely isn't just spin and target...unless I'm really stupid. I've invested a few hours into the game, and I'm drawn in by the story. It's quite well done.
On a more practical matter, it is really a good story. So much better than so many games that I've sent right back to our beloved Gamefly. This game doesn't deserve the dogging that it's received here. It's fun! If you miss Tie-Fighter (as I do) this game will at least help to stop the bleeding.
