With the release of PGR3, the game became an immediate hit and a must-have for any racer out there. Now, PGR4 strives to live up to it's predecessors status by implementing some new features. The first new addition is the obvious - racing with motorcycles. While the Project Gotham series was mainly about 4-wheeled speed demons, Bizzare spiced the game play up. The motorcycles is easily one of the best additions in the game as the motorcycles are a blast to drive. Motorcycle riders also can 'taunt' other racers that car drivers can't. Too fast for all the 'car' racers? Give them a quick snap of your hand in a 'L' shape as you speed by. The motorcycles stand between a Simulation and a Arcade style of handling. While its no MotoGP, it can be a bit tricky steering your cycle through tight corners.
The next addition is the implementation of a weather system. This can undoubtedly make your races harder as certain weather systems can affect your car or cycle's handling. Rainy weather will make you cautious as you approach a turn and snow will just make you sit on the edge of your seat while you carefully navigate your way around a snowy course. The game does a good job not making it too much of a simulation. While in real-life, you'd be slipping and sliding everywhere and crashing if the track was full of snow, but in PGR4, it is manageable - as long as you are cautious.
Singleplayer is revamped with a Race Calendar that displays each event and race like a real calendar, which is better than PGR3's race-here-with-this-vehic- le. Multiplayer is back too, and almost like PGR3's. Daily Tournaments will keep PGR4 lively for a long time as players compete to be the best in the world. Players can also take screenshots and save replays as in PGR3.
PGR4 is basically a revamped version of PGR3. Though, if you're a motorcycle lover like me, you'll definitely love being able to race in motorcycles against cars. Just make sure you're not faint-at-heart when you dare to race in dash-cam.
