I Play PES since the PES 3 on the PS2 (circa 2003). Since then preferred the PES series over the FIFA series. But this gen, after FIFA 08 (2009) things changed, FIFA became way more realistic than PES, a better representation of the sport and a much more fun game to play with friends. Didn't like PES 2008 too much, I passed PES 2009 completely, kept with FIFA 09. Altough I didn't like FIFA 10 for the "ping-pong passing" issue and for 2009 preferred PES 2010, I'm okay with FIFA 11 (ping-pong passing is fixed) and was really anxious about PES 2011 after playing the demo.
BUT...
The final game is a ubber disaster! It's not that it is hard to score or too easy, this is actually the (only) good part about PES 2011. The game is simply WRONG. Konami chnaged the ball physics, the controls, player physics and animations and the end result is a crock that you never feel in control of, is too fantastic to be realistic and too frustrating to be fun. I found no problems is scoring with any team (altough is not an easy task, which is a good think) but the only way that you can score consistently is doing 1-2 passes and that's it. Crosses are luck of the draw, 1-1 with the keeper also, long passes simple don't work.
I can feel that there's a new system for controls that is way deeper than previous PES but as there's ZERO tutorials in this game to help us to break this new code, I have no time to keep trying and trying for countless hours to find out how to control my player and my team.
There are a lot of other flaws in the game's presentation and enerving licensing limitations (why the heck the ONLY international squad that is 5 times world cup winners - Brazil - is not licensed and have the wrong COLORS in their kit is beyond human comprehension).
After playing this game for over 6 hours and not being able to figure out how the new control system actually works so I can feel in control of my offense, mid-field and defense I have no option than to give this a 1/10.
