Very Good

PES on the go!

First off, I'd like to state that this is my first portable soccer game I've ever played. I have PES 2010 for PS3, love the game (better than FIFA IMO). The PSP version has notable differences but is still the same core gameplay. Graphically the game looks pretty good for a PSP, players represents their counter-parts and there's decent texture work. Audio wise there's a decent soundtrack for the menus and you can even use your own music for the menus and highlights reels. One gripe I had with the game though (and this could be good for some people) is there's almost no in-game commentary when playing a match unless a goal is scored. Its strange at first but you get used to it after a few matches. The controls are responsive and tight allowing complete controls of the player you are controlling on the field. However, I noticed that passing the ball to another teammate is a bit underwhelming. What I mean with that is that in PES 2010 for PS3, the player you would pass to would always get the ball no problem (unless a player from the opposite team blocks it). With the PSP version, the passing feels weak occasionally and seems like the ball sometimes won't reach the player you pass to. Again, its actually more minor than I'm making it sound. In terms of game modes, there's plenty to keep you busy here. There's the UEFA Champions League, Master League, Become a Legend, League-Cup, Exhibition and Ad-Hoc Multiplayer. You can also create your own player and import him to an existing team or created team. All in all, I was very satisfied with the PSP version and those who are looking for a solid soccer game on the go should definitely consider this.
