Challenging and fun yet a bit unfair at times

Okay, time for my very first game review--
Graphics: 9
This game pushed the Xbox to the limit in this department. There are lush visuals wherever you go, from litter strewn streets to gardens in the palace. Ubisoft paid great attention to detail when they made this one, especially when comparing it to "The Sands of Time".
Controls: 7
The controls were mostly solid, but there were a couple of times when I would want to rip my hair out because of the camera zooming in to the side and making me move in the opposite direction that I wanted to go. It took only a few minutes to learn how to play and, other than some camera issues, had good controlling overall.
Sound: 8
I personally liked the soundtrack (although most of the background sound was clanging swords and such). The sound effects sounded genuine, from steel against steel to water running. The best part of the sound department was definitely the voice acting. The characters seemed real and not acted. Each voice fits each character perfectly.
Gameplay: 7
While fun, it can be frustrating at times when your point of view isn't exactly ideal. Most deaths will occur when you miss a jump because it either a)doesn't look as far as it does or b)looks parallel to the Prince when it isn't. While it may seem daunting, you can rewind time to recalculate your error. The fighting system could have been better. Even on easy mode, the enemies were aggressive and gave no quarter usually leaving you helpless. Rewinding time didn't help much when you died here. Luckily, there were a slew of combos that you could dish out, but sadly only about 3 of them were really useful. You also control the Dark Prince from time to time but his power is limited due to his constant health depletion, causing frustration.
Overall: 8/10
Even with its shortcomings and hardships, "Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones" was a fun and exciting game with a great story to boot. I would probably rent it over buying it as there is very little replay value
