Unworthy successor

I loved the first Prince of Persia of this series, the Sands of Time. I've been a PoP fan since the original game from 1989. Unfortunately, this is an unworthy successor.
It's just another bad sequel to cash in on a franchise. The game mechanics remind me of the first in the series, but without the fluid feeling of motion and with a few dozen extra cutscenes to get in the way. The writing... oh, the writing... you would think that the writer's strike had been going on when this game was penned. The plot and dialogue are atrocious.
The new combat mechanism, Speed Kill, is only a pale imitation of God of War, which is a far better game.
The only reason I even gave this game a 4/10 is that it maintains a little of the feel from the first game. You can still jump over an enemy's head and perform neat sword-dancing maneuvers, and run along walls. However, they didn't improve on the game's biggest weaknesses, like its bad camera control. Camera control is vital in a game that depends on intricate platform jumping.
Stick to the first game, or better yet, play a more modern spiritual successor of the series.
