This game I wanted to love. I really did. But I can't help but loathe it. In other GH and RB games that give you a partial setlist, there are even some hidden gems among what they don't show you. Not here. The majority of the songs leave ALOT to be desired. I love the Paramore and Flyleaf and others that have been covered in other reviews.
Make no mistake, this is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like playing a real guitar. It actually makes me scared as to what RB is going to come out with but then again usually they haven't disappointed. The story mode is laughable and makes Warriors of Rock's storyline look Oscar worthy. The "Mojo" or their version of Star Power is a waste of time and very annoying in that if you don't save it for a time you want to use it, the game brings up a very annoying Icon telling you to use it now. Ugh. And in 1 player games where the highway is full screen, Power Gig still shrinks your highway as if you're in a band. There is so much in this game that I found poorly executed and if you bought it straight out like I did you probably also had it on EBay 2 days later much like I did. The guitar is entirely too heavy for small children who will beg for it.
I would not even truly suggest this game as a rental. IF you feel the need to absolutely HAVE to try it, I would suggest running and finding someone who wasted any amount of money to buy or rent it and try to get in a game or two before the need to return the game outweighs anything else, and then go take a step up and replay the original Guitar Hero.
In essence if nothing else steers you away, this game is the amalgamation of the movie Waterworld and the video game 50 Cent Bulletproof for the musical game genre. Please do NOT play this game.
