I never played Portal (1) But I REALLY enjoyed this game. There was virtually no violence and I was entertained for hours. I kept having to tell myself to leave some game-play for the following day. I still haven't finished it. Thinking of renting the first edition. The game really makes you think and sort use geometry and physics in a very general sense. Gave it a 9, simply because it ends. :)

Whoever thought of the concept behind this game is a genius. I had heard of Portal for a while now but I never thought it would be the type of game I would enjoy so I hadn't played it until now (I'm more into the Skyrim, Fallout, Assassins Creed type games), and it...was....amazing! The commentary in the game is hilarious and the puzzles get more and more challenging. A few times in the game once I completed a particular level that had me stumped I would feel so accomplished! The only downside is that the story line itself could have definitely been more thought out. A quarter of the way through the game you already know what's going to happen based on a few references made, so it seems like as much thought went into the puzzle process, the plot could have been made truly incredible if the same amount of time had gone into creating it. All around though I definitely recommend!
