The best type of Pokemon in the beginning (in order) are: Water, Grass, and Fire. Torchic is the best upon reaching later stages in the game, but fairly difficult in the beginning. Mudkip is strong in the beginning, but weak versus the Elite Four. Mudkip is a good choice if playing Pokemon Ruby. Treeko is the best to choose if you are playing Pokemon Sapphire because of Team Aqua.

Finding Latios/Latias part 1

After beating the Elite 4 and watching a TV program about Latias/Latios at your home, either Latias or Latios will be available for capture in the game. As stated already above, in Sapphire it's Latias, in Ruby it's Latios. Latias or Latios will be out in the wild, in the entire map. There's no telling where it could be, it appears randomly in the entire map. Using the Eon Ticket, you can catch the other Pokemon. The Eon Ticket is special item you can use in the game. This item can not be obtained in the game itself. You must recieve this ticket from a Nintendo promotion. Using the Eon Ticket, you can board the S.S. Tidal from Lilycove City to the Souther Island. At the Southern Island, you will meet either Latias or Latios. In Ruby, you'll see Latias. And in Sapphire, you'll see Latios.

Catching Latios Easily

To catch latios easily, Make sure that you have your Wynaut you get or a Wobbafet. Also the reason is that Latios runs away on the first turn you find it. If you have a Master Ball with you, that's perfect. Surf South Mossdeep City and surf around for awhile. Now you will have a legendary bird. But remember you have to defeat the Elite Four.

Catching Latias Easily

To catch latias easer defeat the elite four. Then watch the tv screen then you will find out that there is a very rare pokemon flying around the hoenn region then go to lilcove city use fly and then talk to the kid who says he comes from kanto talk to him 3 times then go to route 121 REMEMBER: this will take some time. Then when you encounter it have a master ball prepared then you will have latias.

Mirage Island

Mirage Island is seeable every day on your Pokedex: It's the big blank spot on Route 131, right before Route !30. You will see and island mass of land above it. So, the trick to making it appear is that...there is no trick. Sadly, the island appearing is a complete random event, and there is absolutely no way of making it appear like that. But, it will occasionally appear. You must talk to the man in Pacifidlog who is watching out the window for Mirage Island. If her says that he can see it, Surf to that spot. The island will be there, and you an enter. The island will remain there until exactly midnight, so make sure you get everything you need. Oh yes, a few kinds of rare berries are fond ONLY on Mirage Island, so make sure you take some while you're there. It is quite likely that the island will appear only once in your entire game. You cannot even get these berries from the Berry Master's Wife, so be sure to take some when you're there!

Sorunt aren't the type of pokemon that just come up and slap you in the face and say,\"Here I am, catch me!\" They are located in Shoal Cave, North of Mossdeep. It's a very short surf away. When you enter the cave, it has to be low tide, meaning, there isn't any water in the cave. Climb only ladders except the first hole you come to in the first room with the guy asking for shoal shells and stuff. There is also a guy somewhere else that's walking around. Talk to him and he will give you a Focus Band which prevents fainting sometimes. When you enter a room full of ice, that's where you find them. Just look around.

Surskit

You can find this Pokemon on Routes 102, 111, 114, 117, and 120.

Surskit

Surskit is a very rare pokemon. Just pay attention to what I am writing and you will know how to catch surskit. After you see the t.v. flashing saying that that day is the clear out sale at Lilycove Department Store,( you have to have defeated Elite Four), go out of the house that you are in and then go back in. The t.v. will be flashing. It will say that in a certain amount of days there will be a service day at the Mauville Game corner. Come back in that amount of days and it will say that the service day is that day. A couple days later, come back and the t.v. will be flashing again. Pokemon News will say that there is more Surskits on Route 114than usual. Go to route 114 and walk or ride your bike around for a little while. You will run into a Surskit. Then use an Ultra Ball and hold down A even after you have chosen the Use Option. The Ultra Ball should catch Surskit. As soon as you are sure that Surslit is caught, you can then let go of the A button.

Pokemon Contest

In Pokemon Contest houses, you may enter your Pokemon into a contest for a chance to win a medal. However if you enter without any Porok level ups, you will have a very low chance of winning. The way to raise this is to go out and find the trees with berries on them, then press A. You will then receive 1 to 4 berries. If you now go to a Pokemon House, you will see small gray machines on the right. The empty one on the top is for multi-player. For now, find a house in a city that only has a man at the bottom. Go to the other side of the machine and press A. You will then be asked to pick a Porok (berry) and throw it in. The spinner will come down and start moving. The objective is to press A just when the spinner hits your arrow: Circle Within A Circle: Direct hit (much faster) Circle: Near hit (slightly faster) X: Miss (slower)

Jirachi, Dexoys and Shiny Zigzagoon

To obtain Jirachi, you must have the Pokemon Coliseum Bonus Disk for the Gamecube. Simply download him to your game and you have him. Dexoys can be traded from Fire Red and/or Leaf Green (via Aurora Ticket obtained at Nintendo events). To get a free Shiny Zigzagoon, go to your local Game Stop and ask for the Berry Upgrade. The Pokemon comes with a rare berry. I also got my Jirachi this way (they asked if I had him, I said no and they gave me one.) You can get Dexoys and Jirachi in the game without gameshark, action replay, or code breaker. People have been saying that you get them if the number the man says is between somethin and somethin. But that is only the amount of weeks you have been playing. Anyway, look on your trainer card after you get all 8 badges. You should see a star by your picture of the trainer. After you get 180 to 200 pokemon you should get another star. Another star is by winning the master rank in all contest so you can get your picture of the pokemon in the art museum. And the last one is by winning a 100 streak victory in the battle tower (it does not matter which level of the battle tower you participate in (Lv. 100, Lv. 50)). One more thing, if you trade a pokemon from the kanto part of pokemon firred or leafgreen, your pokedex will become a national dex (that means it will have 386 as it's max, not 202).

if you have two gameboy advance xp you can double your pokemon. go and trade you pokemon with another saphire. start a new game and trade it the do it as much times as you want.
