Did not expect this game to be so addictive and fun. Quirky and cute while, simple and fun. Not too complex and love how they have a mode where they strip away all the perks and upgrades to level the playing fields. And for being a EA game, has worked pretty good since the launch date. Impressed and a great game to play when want to unwind from regular FPS'es. Has a team death match and sabotage/domination mode (which is I think the coolest mode), and a horde/mass effect multiplayer mode to it. Game has a TON of play-ability and is worth every min of renting/owning.
The game doesn't have a campaign mode, which is a minor letdown but not such a big deal for only a $40 price tag. I was worried about the game being online only, as EA completely ruined Sim City that way, and although the online only aspect of the game is not necessary, in my opinion, it actually works- it was only inoperable on the first night of launch unlike Sim City.
A couple of things that I don't like about the game:
-While playing Split-Screen (as offline as the game gets), you and player 2 both use your (player 1's) consumables (i.e. Seed Packs), so there's not real "casual" play. Whenever my little nephew, who loves PvZ, wants to play, I have to tell him, "Do not plant anything!" which kind of lessens the experience for him.
-In Split-Screen mode, only Player 1 can earn coins, which kind of offsets both players using Player 1's consumables but I'd rather both changed.
Things I like:
-Plays a lot like Team Fortress 2 when it comes to character classes:
-Peashooter = Soldier
-Chomper = Demoman
-Sunflower = Medic
-Cactus = Sniper
-Definite replay value!
-All the fun of a shooting game, with the wholesomeness of PvZ!
