I used to say "Americans are the best software engineers." But this polished t-u-r-d has got me re-thinking that opinion. It's as if the game was designed by the french, art produced by the Venezuelans, outsourced to the chinese, and tested by actual etheopian pirates (Who I am sure said the game would be better if "There was a way to hold the ship for ransom." And they are correct.) Here is a list of things that would make this game better: - not repeating the same 5 games three times. - adding some, uh, adventure. - control the ship in a way that makes sense. - rowing the boat in a way that does not immediately over compensate turns. - when sword ... oh never mind. This game isn't worth my time or yours.
If you're interested in playing a pirate arcade type game then there are a lot better (and cheaper) options out there on the Internet. This game was disappointing as it didn't take advantage of the Wii remote functionality for the different mini-games within it. Squidball was fun though. Not worth trying on the Wii but would be OK if you're into arcade type play I suppose although the different games take an annoyingly long time to load.
Its a wanna be Pirate version of Mario Party!! Some of the mini games are cute but not all. Sometimes (even after reading the directions) you don't know what your doing. You might as well rent Mario Party and have more fun.
