This is probably the best Crave game out there. It's (duh) a game about pinball! It has pretty good graphics and it's sorta fun to learn about classic pinball tables. The bad side : it's all about pinball! I don't know anybody would buy a game all about pinball! So you don't have to hear me go on and on about how weird it would be to buy a video game all about pinball instead of actually playing real pinball, I'm gonna sum it up. I give this game 5 out of 10.
I see this game has low reader reviews, but I was impressed with it. The graphics, the sounds, and the fact that a historical representation is given for each table.
For each table, there seem to be different background sounds. So while you have all the sounds of the original table (some of them in their original lo-fi glory-- some of those tables used analog tape for the sounds), there is an ambient recording of the place that you're playing, so you hear other video games in the background, which is really cool.
The graphics are pretty much faultless. Light is reflected off the glass of the table, everything acts and sounds as it should.
The physics of the ball seem particularly well done... it feels just like playing a pinball machine, which I suck at.
I appreciated the fact that tables were represented from various decades, and that the history explained why. It was neat to see the difference between a table from the late 70's and one from the 60's.
The only thing I would fault, and this isn't really a fault, is that the game scrolls up and down to accomodate the size of the table, so it's a little harder than playing the real table.
However, I would rather it did this than represent the entire table as a tiny elongated rectangle on the screen.
All in all, an excellent game, and I would have played it longer, but... I'm getting a ps3 soon, and I had to send it back to get a game for the ps3!
its pretty good. graphics and sound effects are quite good for a game like this. only thing i didnt like was the lack of choices for games. there was very little variety, they shouldve added at least twice the number of machines in the game.
