Good

Mechanically good, but lacking in playability.

If you played the previous title on the will (Williams Collection), then you may be disappointed with this title. The game engine has stayed mostly the same, the ball travels and reacts with true to life response with a slight slow down on a few tables but nothing to noticeable. The real issue with the new installment is with the table selection, the new game offers older model table that have fewer goals and in my opinion less to do while playing.

Graphics 5/5
Its pinball, it looks like pinball, hey what else do you want it to look like.

Controls 5/5
Still very easy to pick up and play. The only control issue is finding the camera angle you prefer.

Gameplay 3/5
Here is my problem with the game. The tables are just to old for my taste, not alot to do on each table. The tables are just too similar in gameplay. If you are famillar with Jive time on the williams collection thats what alot of these tables play like. There are a few non-pinball games to play but they lose there novelty quickly.

Final 7/10
If you really like the modern pinball tables then this game may not be for you but if you like the slower classics then sit down and enjoy a zen moment with this game. If you like pinball you should try this game out its still a great pinball platform, the tables within the game will decide if its a keeper for you.

I am a huge fan of the Williams Pinball Classics made by these guys, but the Gottleib just doesn't cut it. The graphics, sound, physics, etc are OK (though the graphics don't seem as sharp on this one - might just be mental thing though). The tables just aren't that fun to play. Most are older pins, which are fine but Gottlieb in my opinion never made pinballs that were as fun or as well designed as Williams. I think Crave should continue this series, but maybe look at some of the more popular pins to include in the next release.

Also, just a side note - I emailed these guys maybe a year ago and told them how much I loved the williams game and encouraged(begged) them to release more tables or a whole new game(this isn't the quality i hoped for)...and they did actually email back and it wasn't a canned response, which I though was pretty cool of them. Anyway, hopefully they will do better next time around. Most of the vintage pins are hard to find and are expensive if you can find them. It's nice to be able to play them again, even if it's not the real thing.

There are several games to choose from and with the help of "cheats, codes & FAQs" one can open them all even without accumulating credits. It is very much like an arcade atmosphere.
I only wish the view of the pinball table was better. I want to see the whole table including the score board. It seems I could only see a part of the table at a time.
Still, I had some fun with it.
