Pikmin for GameCube Reviews by Gamers

I can't see why anyone would like Pikmin. Somehow you crash on a planet with poisonous air. Afterwards you meet some weird plants called Pikmin. You only have fifteen minutes each day to try and find your spaceship parts to get off the planet. The pikmin really want to help you, but sometimes weird creatures eat them!! Hurry and look for the spaceship parts, because if you don't get off the planet, then the poisonous air will kill you! I tried hard to look for the parts, but in the end I couldn't find any!!! Remember, if all your pikmin get eaten then you have to pick more pikmin. So it wasn't for me, but it might be fun to you. So rent this pikmin game right now!

What with all the environments to explore, obstacles to overcome, and strategies to plan, "Pikmin" can be a very enjoyable game. That enjoyment is severely marred, however, by the restrictive, stress-inducing time limit. Not only are your daylight cycles timed, but you have only a limited number of days in which to find and recover all the missing components of your spaceship. If you fail to meet that deadline, then...well, you're just plumb out of luck.

The sunrise-to-sunset time limit isn't so bad. In fact, it's a pretty essential part of the gameplay. The game would have been improved greatly, however, by the allowance of unlimited days during which to get things done. After all, if you're rushed off your feet, then you're not having fun.
