My Favorite DS Game

This is a fantastic game. Anyone who has ever enjoyed a puzzle game should play it. Initially, I gave this a rent from GameFly, and it only took a couple days to know I wanted to keep it. I've had it about six months now. I've played it A LOT, and am only now getting close to being "done" with it. There is a very impressive amount of content in this game. The online play is really fun, addictive, and frustrating (because some people are so good).

The gameplay itself? It can be compared to Sudoku or Minesweeper. You start with an empty grid. Every box on the grid may be turned on, or X'ed out. On the outside of every row or column on the graph there are numbers that tell you the groupings of the "on" blocks. For example, 1-3-3-7 would mean there is a single block, then three in a row, then three in a row, then seven in a row. But, you the player must use your powers of deduction to determine the placement of these groups on the grid. The stylus-based controls work flawlessly.

You'll be hooked as soon as you try it.

If you enjoy Sudoku, or any other similar puzzle type games, rent this. It is very fun and progressively challenging. Just when you start to feel like you're getting bored with it, you can get online and download some more unique puzzles. Definitely rent this game, and consider buying it for under $20.

If you're tired of Sudoku then you should give Picross a try. The game does a great job of explaining the basics with their tutorials and have a number of easy puzzles for new people. My only gripe is that there are only 3 music tracks and they are repetitive.
