Excellent

It is a great shame this game was overlooked. It combines DBZ and The Matrix with a trading card game to create a truly unique video game experience. Since it was a budget game it lacks an impressive story mode, it has limited voice acting and an odd story that may throw people off.

However, the game play and the graphics truly make up for any shortcomings this game has. You create an arsenal (deck) of skills (cards) that you use in battle. Your skills spawn randomly 3 at a time on the field. In order to use your skills you must raise your level using Aura Particles. You assign your skills to A,B,X, and Y to use them. There are 300 skills to choose from and you can have up to 15 arsenals, giving the player endless strategies. It is your job to use your skills to defeat your opponent strategically. There are five categories; offensive, defensive, enhancement, erase, environmental and miscellaneous. This game's greatest achievement is online play. Single player is like training for online play. XBox Live pits you against 3 others (4 versus 4) and gives you many modes to brawl in and also allows you to win online exclusive abilities after winning several ranked matches. This part of the game is truly addictive.

All in all, despite this games many drawbacks and with a 20$ price tag, it is definitely worth buying. The deep gameplay and crisp graphics along with custom soundtracks and excellent addicting online play makes it worth every penny.

I found this game to be extremely fun. The graphics are phenomenal, especially in the cut scenes, it has a great sound track, and an engaging storyline that is very cool. Now i don't have Xbox Live (sob) so i can't tell you about the online multiplayer play, but the standard online play is pretty fun. The only downside to the multiplayer play is that the environments aren't nearly as destructible as in the missions.

Anyway, the overall game mechanics were great and the controls, easy to learn. I also liked the fact that there were many side missions that you could do and a cornucopia of abilities. The areas were well detailed, very destructible, and each one was totally different from the rest. The other thing is that there are many secrets about each area such as a way that you can collapse a entire floor or ceiling and blow huge holes in the walls. I found them to be quite expansive, even more so later in the game.

The characters also seemed like real people and each was very entertaining and fun to learn about. I would recommend this title to most anyone, as long as they can read, and like third person combat games. One last thing... you can continue play after completing the initial storyline and still receive a multitude of new missions which allow you to gain some new and very powerful attacks to increase your cases' power to even greater heights!

Fair

Decent but not exceptional.

This is a somewhat fun third-person fighting game. However, all missions are played out on the same group of about half a dozen smallish maps, basically "arena" play against computer opponents. Also, this is one of the most poorly translated games I have ever played - much of the dialogue is just incomprehensible nonsense. For what there is of this game, the artwork is pretty cool. Good for a lark, but as I said, not in the least bit exceptional.
