Petz: Hamsterz 2 for Nintendo DS Reviews by Gamers

My daughter really wanted this game and so we were hoping that it was a good one considering that we see it at every store that we go to. First the good points: The hamsters are really really cute and that is about it for the good points.

The bad points: First it starts out ok. You are given the very first hamster all you have to do is take care of it, feed it, give it water and pet it or give it attention.

In order to be able to "buy" the things you need to take care of the hamster you must earn points by petting the hamster. Ok thats fine but after a while if you pet the hamster to much it gets angry. Blue lightning comes from it's face as it bites you. Once the hamster gets mad there NO way to make it happy again!! If you can not make it happy you CAN NOT earn stars and hearts, which is the currency of the game.

In the beginning of the game you earn lots of stars enough to buy cleaning supplies, clippers, medicine, litter, food water etc etc. You can even buy larger cages and other new hamsters. This is cool but all the new hamsters we bought were mean right from the start and you earn almost nothing from petting them. You can take the hamster back to the store up to 9 times but if you can not earn stars then you CAN NOT get any where in this game. You have to turn the game off and start over with a new game. It is pointless! No matter what we tried to keep the hamsters happy it just does not work. The instructions were no help either. If you want your child to be frustrated because you can not earn points to buy tunnels and ladders to get to higher levels then this game with certainly do the job of frustrating every one. Eventually you run out of stars and all you can do is watch the hamster walk around the cage. You can not pet the hamster because it gets mad! So you just sit there watching it walk around it's cage. BORING!!!!

I do not recommend this game. It is a big disappointment!

This game I was really disappointed. I have Petz tigers and Petz dolphins and this isn't the Petz best game compared to those two. I wouldn't recommend this to someone other than a 7 year old kid, I lost interest the second day I have recieved it. They should have put in more stuff to do with the hamsters to make more fun like in Tigerz you have to train them to do tricks. They should have dones something like that in this game. Maybe I would have liked it more.
