Persona 4 for PlayStation 2 Reviews by Gamers

My save file reads 2 hrs and 16 min. So far I have never been in complete control of my character. Not a single real battle. The story is developing very slowly. I'm not going to give this game a bad rating because I really haven't gotten to far into it. It just develops much more slowly than most games.

Before you start coming at me with it being a JRPG and you have to be a fan of them and such I'll have you know Final Fantasy X and Dragon Quest VIII were my favorite games on PS2. So that goes out the window.

Its just the lack of control and way too much meaningless dialogue that really brings this game down for me, the story seems like it will go somwhere very interesting, but I just don't think I have the patience to wait for it to take off. I think this game is more of a social sim than it is a rpg.

Give it a shot if you're hardcore into JRPGs and are patient and love a good story. If you don't have much patience, or you don't give a hoot about story, then skip this title.

This is a very unique game it starts off a little slow but it still keeps you interested but once it starts to get into the storyline you can`t keep yourself off of it. But if you are a person that does not like a lot of dialogue in games then you should not rent it. For the first 2 - 2 and a half hours the game is very strict on where you can go it does not start to go free-roam until you visit your first weapons shop. the games storyline is unlike any other game I have ever seen before and it also has anime` cut scenes with popular voice actors from anime` television shows like Bleach and Naruto. The only two things that I find wrong with this game is the soundtrack, and a character named Teddy who is a really annoying bear like creature he probably will get your nerves. Overall I highly suggest you rent this game you will not be disappointed.
