This game is addicting. I cant stop playing it.
This game is challenging and just overall awesome.
Graphics are good.

Even though you dont get to move the patapons yourself.
Its still amazingly fun pressing the buttons for the drum.

After five minutes of playing it you will be hooked.
You wont even realize that your singing along.

I first got this game and thought that it was gonna be boring.
Three hours then went by and i didnt even notice.

This is a great game and i recommend it to everyone.

You will not play another game like this. Sure, other rhythm games will come to mind like "Parappa" or "Um Jammer", perhaps "Gitaroo Man", but none will have your thumbs tapping out the dirge beats for a tribe of little eyes to attack a huge crab.

You'll have to memorize and time the beats that direct the Patapons to either attack, defend, dodge or march ahead (to the right side anyway). Timing is really important: combos will result in "Fever" mode. "Fever" mode is the one most important thing since it makes them more powerful and helps to activate special powers ("miracles" like rain or a tail wind for arrows/spears to fly further). Loosing "Fever" at a critical time will result in much swearage and losing. The cheery Patapons make lots of noise so there's some distractions to the beat, and thus challenging.

Missions are pretty varied (e.g. hunt for food, kill boss monster, attack enemy army), but they all run left to right. Choosing the rigth Patapon troops for the mission is part of the fun. There's a good variety of Patapon varieties and weapons. Most dead patapons are revived by collecting their remains so there's not to much loss.

Issues:
-No pause feature
-Can't replace current Patapons for "better" Patapons (unless they die and you don't get their remains: e.g. swallowed by monster).
-Weapons found are generally random. You can't make or upgrade them at home base.
-Glitch for equipping some weapons: you can't do it manually, but hitting "optimize" will.

These don't take away from the experience though. I would love to see more missions available via download through the Playstation store or such.

Pon-Pon-Pata-Pon(attack)

Is exactly what this game does. I was kinda wary about playing this game, but WOW. Its addicting yet simple. It gets a rhythm stuck in your head after a while. (I started hearing it everywhere. PON PON PAT A PON, PATA PATA PATA PON)This is a great game, but you need to have a beat. And for those hard of hearing, you can keep the beat to the outside screen that blinks when you should press a button combo. 9STARS for this addicting puzzle game.
