Great for Newcomers; Poor for Fans.

If you never played any of the Panzer Dragoon games on the Sega Saturn, then you'd like this game. I, however, played all three games on the Sega Saturn and was disappointed with the 4th installment in the series, Panzer Dragoon Orta (PDO). Now this disappointment does not lie in the graphics, the story, or the gameplay - because all three are good; the disappointment lies in PDO's rehashing of all three. As soon as I turned PDO on, I felt like I stepped into a timemachine and went back to 1995, because PDO's story is identical as Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon Zweig. Panzer Dragoon Saga, the third installment, was an RPG, and it took the Panzer Dragoon series to unbelievable heights. Now Panzer Dragoon Orta is made, and it went right back to the rail shooter genre. The decision to reverse the direction of the series was a tremendous error, and when I played PDO, I felt unbelievably bored, as I had already done this over ten years ago. That is why, to the Panzer Dragoon fans - and there may only be one - this game was bad; it was Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon Zweig repackaged and resold.
