After awhile, I found that controlling Pac Man with the Stylus wasn't as fun as the D-Pad or a good old fashioned joystick is. 50% of the time, when I'd try to draw a Pac-Man, I'd end up having to re-draw him because the game wouldn't accept mine. It's a very interesting idea for a game, but not incredibly fun to play.
When I buy a 'puzzle game' I look for something that is going to challenge my mind, and make me have fun at the same time. This game provides exactly that. This is not the typical pac-man game. The ghosts are essentially puzzle pieces you must eliminate, by drawing your own version of pacman to eat them up. You have a specific number of "men" youre allowed to draw per turn, so rushing through this game will not help out. You have to use strategy, you have to think, and I promise you you will have fun. I know, this is one of those titles like YOSHIS TOUCH N GO that you are debating renting, trust me and do it. Right now I am playing Advance Wars DS and Star Fox DS. Both of those games take a significant amount of time. This is perfect for those in-between moments of time when I am sick of intense fighting. I read people said drawing in this game is bad, or not fun. They are wrong. I am very surprised with how good this game is in spite of all the bad talk I had heard prior to purchase. Fun, brain boggling, pretty to look at (unless youre the worst artist ever) and also very very lengthy. Something tells me some of the bad scores posted here are out of frustration - with puzzle games, that is a good thing.
I am one of the biggest pac-man fans around and when i heard that a ds game would feature pac man and full usage of the stylus i was very optimistic about the idea. Than i rented it and my love for pac-man began to fade. Pac Pix is a very simple game, draw your pacman with the stylus and guide him with the pen so he doesnt leave the screen and eat all the ghosts. Simple enough except you have to draw your pac man in a specific way or else it is just a wasted line. Once you get the hang of it though you are in good shape, than comes adding making arrows to shoot ghosts from the top screen to the bottom screen while keeping your pacman alive on the bottom screen. It is alot to handle and it becomes very frustrating and rather repetitive far to fast. The idea is by far a great one but gameplay is lacking. I love you pac - man but drawing you is a pain and this game strays to far from the pac - man i know and love.
