If you've played Parappa on PS1, that's all you ever need. It seems the only thing Parappa doesn't gotta believe in is improving this game. Sure it's fun, for a while, for a day. It's still the same songs with a bonus of being able to download other songs and play against 3 other people.
The bonus songs. They only change the music. All the moves and everything stay exactly the same. Some of them are really bad. The ones that are supposed to be rock/metal or something are horrible and you can't play to the beat very well. The frog level sounds horrible with the bonus music.
The control has not changed. The buttons are still not mapped to the correct "flow" of the music. So if you're trying to play the game by matching up the buttons, you lose. If you play by the beat of the music and ignore the buttons you'll do well. Some of you might know what I'm talking about. In other words, the buttons on the screen don't match with the music.
I haven't and never will play the multiplayer version. All I can say is the video of the multiplayer I saw looked fun. This game is hardly worth buying, but worth another play if you're renting. I do believe it looks a little better on PSP than the PS1 version.
