Darts are a game played in bars all over the world (most notably in Ireland and England), but in PDC World Championchip Darts, you don't have to be over the legal age of 21 to play this classic game.
It has a realistic control set up; you hold the Wiimote like a dart, aim the target at wherever you want to toss the dart to, and hold the A button with your index finger.
Then, you draw your hand back, then flick it forward like tossing a dart and release the A button to make the throw.
Problem is, "realistic" doesn't mean "fun". These controls are very imprecise; the biggest problem is my darts land far, far lower than where I wanted them to go to.
Another problem is several tosses don't register with the game and nothing happens; I have to line up the shot and try again (and again and again). Of couse, the AI doesn't have to deal with these issues.
Other issues not resolves are the fact the game won't tell you how a game of 501 darts or 701 double in darts are played - when it should. Many newcomers will get confused and give up on this game.
It's not like they're missing anything fresh or new. PDC Darts has a single player tournament mode and single match mode, a one one one single match mode, and a up to four player tourment mode.
It's not a bad line up, but the presentation is very bland, the graphics are just okay, and the European announcer really got on my nerves (some of the things he says I don't understand).
PDC World Championship Darts is a good idea, it's just the unforgiving controls and basic layout ruin it. SKIP IT.
Having a pub like atmosphere may work for you, but for family activities it is very distracting and doesn't make sense. Controller feedback not as good as most games. Good graphics, but not a good game from my perspective
Game was as close to real darts as I have played so far. I liked the idea of playing against some of the biggest names in the sport but was disappointed in how limited the options were to create your own character. Game is fairly easy to master as I was throwing 180's on a regular basis except against Phil Taylor which for some reason the game played differently. Overall I give it a 6 for realistic game play but only average graphics.
