Play the First One First

The game is... well... disappointing. I was all ready to have new powers and new things to do but it actually cut some of the things I loved and others turned into annoying bits. Like the home. In Overlord, you had one hallway and a number of staircases leading around the area. Now you have a maze-like home that confuses me to the point where I don't even bother trying to upgrade.
Another thing that was hurt was the spells. In the first game, you had four types of spells, each of them split into an additional three levels. In this one, you have three spells which can each be used two ways. However, unlike the first, you have to hold buttons for a certain amount of time and go through a mess instead of just selecting your spells.
Now for the bits I do like: I like the idea of the new Overlord being the son of the old one, though I do wish Daddy had appeared at some point. I also like the mounts. That's pretty much it, actually.
There's nothing really wrong with the game, I just feel like it doesn't have the same spark of creativity that the first game had.
