As a fan of the first two Onimusha videogames, I greatly looked forward to this third edition. I was especially intrigued by the time-travel aspect to the game that was promised. The action is everything one would expect from an Onimusha game; great slashing, destructive magic attacks, and plenty of enemies to defeat. The user even gets to use new weapons than from the previous additions. The story, although a continuation and supposed conclusion to the series, is a bit odd and at times confusing. The Samanoske of 16th century Japan gets warped into present day Paris and a parisian named Jacques gets sent to 16th century Japan, and yet there is a Samanoske there as well. The dialog also suffers from a massive amount of cheesiness, namely towards the end. Story aside, most of the elements of the previous games are back - most notably the puzzle boxes and phantom realms and plenty of secrets await those who defeat the game. One thing I really did not like about the game was that we got maybe a ten second explanation of what happened to Juyge from the last game. I think Capcom could have found a better way to tell us of his fate. I was supprised by how much Jacques is actually used as a playable character in the game; I used him only slighly less than Samonoske the first time through the game according to my stats. Overall, Onimusha 3 is more of what you would expect from the series, great action, interesting characters, well over ten hours of gameplay the first time through, and many things to uncover.

I played Onimushas 1 and 2 so I firgured that I have to try the third whcih is actually the reasono why I played the first two. This game starts off kind of not what I wanted because at the end of the first game it was sort of a cliff hanger but the third game didn't help tell about what happend to Samonoske. Anyways this game is pretty much like all the other games with the great adition of some sort of time glitch allowing your self to play Samonoske in present day France and Jacues (Jean Reno!!!) in 1500 japan. Other that that it plays like a normal except that Jaques has a whip like weapon through out the game. But a great, no faboulouse, addition is that you can now move with the anologue stick unlike the wierd movement in the first two. With an epic game story and great gamplay with some clasic capcom weapon and armor leveling. This is definitly an addicting ending to the Onimusha trilogy, ignore dawn of dreams.

When i rented this onimusha i didnt expect much of it because the last one i played was for ps1 and i didnt really like it, but when i played this one i was surprised, the graphics were really cool the game play was good too and the little movies and the story were really cool. The first scene in paris was one of the most cool one. This samurai like things jump out of this flying thing that looks like a whale and just start killing everyone =).
