Movie Description
Set against a backdrop of revolution and revenge, the saga of El Mariachi (Antonio Banderas), the deadly guitar-slinging hero, continues. El Mariachi is forced out of hiding when a crooked CIA agent (Johnny Depp) recruits him to foil an assassination plot against the Mexican President by drug kingpin Barillo (Willem Dafoe). El Mariachi returns to action with his two trusty sidekicks, Lorenzo (Enrique Iglesias) and Fideo (Marco Leonardi) by his side, and blood revenge on his mind in this explosive, high, velocity thriller. The film also stars Mickey Rourke, Salma Hayek, Eva Mendes, Danny Trejo, Marco Leonardi, Cheech Marin, and Ruben Blades.

The sheer joy and creativity that was in the Original El Mariachi is long gone. Replaced by flaccid focus group icons, fading stars and a plot that, to quote Amadeus, has too many notes, most of which are flat. Just as in Sharkboy and Lavagirl, I wonder if the script was really written by a 10 yea...more
