Noah takes the waterlogged story of the worst rainstorm ever and breathes new life into the Old Testament tale with this combination of religious movie, fantasy flick, and big-budget disaster picture. Visionary director Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, Black Swan) takes some liberties with the biblical story to fit it in its new context, but the basics are there. Noah talks to God who tells him to build a big boat and fill it with a pair of every animal on earth. But the film then takes us inside the boat, where we learn that Noah is a religious zealot. Noah is a huge, sprawling, impossibly ambitious movie that puts a new spin on one of mankind's oldest stories.
