I REALLY wanted to like this game. The gameplay is ok, although the combo system can be a little slow at times. The insane bosses are neat. However, this does not make a good game.
Let me break it down for you:
First off, the quicktime events are so stupid it's beyond any reasoning. I don't understand why they are in the game. They only serve as a hinderance without consequence, because if you fail one, you just start over without losing any life. It's not like God of War or Prince of Persia where if you fail a quicktime event the enemy smashes you into the ground.
Second (and this is a HUGE one), the save system is terrible. Absolutely the worst design in game saving short of not having any saves at all. The game "autosaves", but only does so at the end of a mission. The only problem is that missions can take an hour to complete. If you don't know this, the first time you shut off your console, and then start it up you will be surprised. There are checkpoints throughout each mission, but they are only there for you to go back to in case you die. They are not actually save points. There is no way to manually save the game during a mission.
I like gaming, but sometimes I don't want to spend an hour failing quicktime events so I'll shut off the game in frustration, only to find that I have to start the whole level over again.
This is extremely frustrating. I felt like those people in the Gamefly commercials that are throwing tv's out windows and pulling books of bookshelves. I've never been angry at horrible game design before this.
Skip this one and play something good.
