This game is like a professional version of Mario bros. It isn't torture though but it isn't for me either.. Sluggish movement doesn't help this games cause in the slightest..
One of the few thing that are remarkable with this title is that it has a slightly less gimmicky use of the Wiis motion controls, which is a definite plus in my book, but it still can't convince me to buy it... Don't be surprised if you find yourself loaded with 90 something lives before you leave the first world, and don't be equally surprised that you are just as likely to lose most of them on the next world! Yes, difficulty spikes are rather random and insane... It is almost like they never planned the game out in advanced... Give it a rent for yourself and see...
try before you buy!

I'm speaking from an era of NES Super Mario Brothers! This game is fun but too difficult for my 6 yr old who haven't any previous exposure to the wonderful world of Mario.
Compared to SMb of yore, I feel the jumping height is a little off and the floor is a little too "slippery". I needed aN hour to get acclimated to the new dynamics. I miss the "Tanooki" (Raccoon) suit. That was by far (and still) the best suit in the game!!
That being said, it was very nostalgic and my friends and I still enjoyed playing for hours on end on New Years day! :D
