I realize Mario has a legacy and everything, but I really couldn't get into this one. Same old thing, only this time in barely noticeable HD. Same level designs: desert, fire castles for boss fights, etc. It's amazing how they can keep on repackaging the same game 100 times. People complain about Call of Duty and Pokemon. A least Call of Duty gives you a new story every time with updated multiplayer and Pokemon gives you 100 new creatures and a new land to explore. Mario Bros gives new levels that will only be distinguishable from ones in past entries of the series if you've played through them dozens of times and spent the time learning all of their secrets. It's really getting old, legacy or not.
And it's a stupid idea to make us repeat three levels if we lose all of our lives in the boss fight levels. It doesn't increase the difficulty, it's just tedious. It feels like it's just there to pad out the length of the game.
