This is the typical Mario game with a few minor tweaks. To be honest the game is about as challenging as any other Mario, once you start to play a level enough times you can memorize and beat it fairly easily. I guess the challenges are fun and playing with multiple players is cool. To sum it up, you shouldn't be expecting anything new, and you really are just playing to see the new artwork and to get your Mario fix. Rent it, Beat it, Forget it.
I've been playing videogames since the original Super Mario Bros and I must say that this game gives you a new look, new experiences, but an awesome sense of nostalgia. The graphics are crisp, detailed, and vibrant. The game can be played by not only 2-4 players but FIVE players at once. The power ups got an upgrade and the Wii U's gamepad gives you the option of playing for hours on end without hogging up the TV. The story may have been reused, but this is a keeper without a doubt.
