I thought NFS was based on cops and fleeing, this is just another gran tourismo, very upsetting... NFS Most Wanted I feel is still the best from this franchise, but had I known that it was like a Gran Tourismo I would have just rented that.....
Ok the review may be harsh, but this game has lost any respect in the first 120 minutes of playing, I haven't tried the wheel but [without it], this game is like driving on a greased speedway and the cars FEEL far from realistic and even farther from arcade (obviously) don't waste your time with this one get dirt 2 or wait for forza 3 or even get forza 2 it blows this game away easy!
The graphics are impressive and the cockpit view works really well, the sense of speed is great.
Sadly, the play isn't as good as Forza or Grid. It's almost like they made the game more of a casual racer like burnout but without the thrills of burnout. I can see why EA handed over the NFS franchise to makers of Burnout for the next version in the series. There's no real damage like Grid or Forza and the game is filled with bugs and glitches. I've only rented the game a few days and had to quit the game at least 10 times because my car didn't draw in or the camera is stuck in replay mode.
Instead of going back to the roots of the NFS franchise which involved you driving fast exotic sports cars and getting chased by cops through awesome landscapes, they throw everything away and try to copy the competition. It tries too hard to be like Forza or Grid but never gets the core gameplay feeling. I'm glad I rented it first.
