A change NOT for the better

First off, yes, it bears the "Need for Speed" title. Need for Speed is known as being an arcade style racer. The fact that they are trying to chase the "Simulation" unicorn is beyond my comprehension, however they should stick to what they know and leave the game as it is....an arcade style racer. Leave Simulations to Gran Turismo and Forza. Thats the reason there are games like Need for Speed. People get tired of the Sims and want an Arcade action or vice versa.
Secondly, the menus are poorly constructed and its hard to figure out where I left off. I found myself Dominating Race Days and getting first place in all of them, SAVING, turning off my PS3, taking a break and coming back only to find that the races I completed did NOT bear the "First Place" tag next to them and of course, I had no points. I did them without knowning I had done them again, until I started and said "Wait, didnt I do this before?"...and I did. I did that about 10 times.
The customization is decent, more options and features, however, it does nothing to salvage the gameplay. Playability seems very clunky. The track feels "wet" all the time and you have to struggle to keep a steady turn.
As one reviewer already said, if you like Most Wanted and Carbon, you will NOT like this game and I HIGHLY recommend you rent it first, as I have done. Hoefully, EA reads these reviews and takes it to heart, its a shot in the dark, but sometimes hope is all we have.
Do better next time EA, for the sake of the Need for Speed name!
