not worth it

As a NFS fan, I'm disappointed on where they went with this game. I like the detail on car damage in the game, and how it affects the cars in the race. But without any cops or free roam capability the game can get boring rather quickly. If your into just driving track after track with no time to get a feel for the car, or the upgrades on the car before you get into a race. Then this is the game for you. Good for a rental, but not worth it if your planning on buying it

Where NFS went wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED every other NFS game out there which is why I immediately grabbed this game went it came out. That was a bad move on my part. THIS GAME IS NOT GOOD!
The only way that this game is even remotely like the other NFS's is because it has cars in it. They based this game around drifting more than racing. The customization is so much worse than before and even the graphics aren't amazing or anything. If you're thinking about getting this game, THINK AGAIN!

A new look and feel for Need for Speed

I put this game in my Q as soon as I saw it posted. My exp w/ Most Wanted, and Carbon City had me playing these series for long hours.

Do not get this game with expectation that you are going to have the next step in the evolution of that style of the series.

This is definitely a change in style for Need for Speed. My rating of 5 is not based on the differences between the last few releases and this game, but rather this game alone.

I do not like the feel of the cars. Going around corners is not arcade style, nor is it simulation style. It feels somewhere stuck in the middle. The damage is a good try, but NFS needs to look a bit more at what Dirt did from a damage point of view.

For me this game has turned out to be very frustrating. The drag racing element is hard to get down, and the repetition is boring. I also think that the garage is in serious need of rework. The template based upgrade is hard to work with and not user friendly at all.

If you are a fan of racing then rent this game and if you like it, use the option to buy. Keep it safe with this title. There are better options if you simply want a game to take a set of cars and run tracks with. DIRT would be at the top of my list. If you want an open racer, then stick around and wait a bit longer for the next game....
