This game is very worthy of a playthrough. There are tons of cars in this open world racer and the greatest part is, you don't even have to buy them. You must find cars scattered around the world and once you find them, they are yours for the taking. Every car has about 6 races you can do with it, 2 easy, 2 medium, and 2 hard difficulty. So you wont find yourself getting frustrated trying to find a race. Most people will probably bash this game because there aren't many customizations like the previous Most Wanted. It would have been a nice addition to the game but I don't think it deserves a bad rating because of it. You can customize your car, just not for appearance, more for performance. The controls are also very smooth during gameplay. Everything in this game satisfied me and exceeded my expectations. From what I have heard, it wasn't that good. But when I rented it from Gamefly and gave it a shot for myself, I realized that most of these other people were wrong. If you are the kind of player that will be able to play this game without comparing it to the older Most Wanted, then you will have a blast.
I had been looking forward to this game since I heard about it and I wasn't disappointed. I loved the racing and everything about it. The only things I did not like was how hard it was to get away from the cops after the race was over and when you hit anything going moderately fast, you total your car. I love a good challenge but the crashign everytime I hit something I could do without.
To be fair it is a good racing game but if you are going to hold the same name as the 2005 mega-hit you should at least try to incorporat some of the same feautures. Lack of a story, characters, customization, currency and predictable police. Its just the score attack game with cars, customization may as well be some cards you hold in your hand and use your imagination. There is no repucution to being arrested, in the old one you would lose money and if you got arrested in the same car to many times you would lose the car. This one you just wonder around the full map aimlessly until you find new cars to drive and "Jack" them. Then do a bunch of races with that said car to unlock the "cards" to upgrade the car. You can drive any care in the game for any race, they scale the speed down to you. In a Lamborghini you'll expect and pretty intense race but in say a Ford Focus that same race will be half the speed.
The game relies heavenly on you having an active friend roster that plays and it'll fill their pictures and scores into the most wanted slots. I have one person that played it and he was rank 8 then after him it was just some Cars, no character to them.
