The original Need for Speed Most Wanted is still my favorite racing game. And the best thing in that game is the controls which allow precision driving. You could shift gears with the right thumbstick. Well guess what. You can't do that anymore. No more cool live action cut scenes. Meh.

A poor attempt to blend the 200mph crash-fest awesomeness of Burnout with the slightly more auto-related thrills of Need for Speed. Even with the cop chases I'd pass on this game. If you like either of the aforementioned series, you're better off going with NFS: hot pursuit, or Burnout: Revenge. The cops AI is terrible, every car feels like a lead toboggan, and theres honestly absolutely nothing new here. Its more of the same, poorly done, in new packaging.

let me start by saying if you've played any real racing game, do not rent this game! The basics of driving are broken. The first car u get is a porsche carrera which is ne of the best handling cars in the world, but every single turn feels like u are on ice and controlling it from about 2 miles away. every turn ends up being an obstacle. when i steer left or right i also have to counter steer every time. so just driving down the open world streets becomes a series of cutshots of u crashing. not to mention the graffics too. when u crash, which should be about 2 minutes into the game, if your car rolls over the underside of my porsche was a solid sheet of metal with the tranny, exhaust, and suspension are literally drawn on that sheet of metal. it always seems with nfs games that it's a practice in patience not a skill based driving game. crash enough times in a race and restart enough times till you get the race memorized. also the loading screens, which are very fast actually, show u very vital info. such as what is needed for a first place finish or a target time. all sounds good but it loads in like 10 seconds. so your starting a race not knowing your goal. overall i played this game for 35 minutes total, but u don't need a whole day to know it's raining out side. a game should emerse you quick yes but not to this extent. there is no learning curve or intro to the racing mechanics. Just keep crashing, restarting, and getting mad till u find a game in there somewhere. there are alot of awesome racing games out there to choose from out there. nfs is not keeping up and this game really feels like it's their final breathe. so go pick up forza, grid, dirt, gran tourismo, pgr's, test drives, etc. no need for speed anymore
