Graphics are the best thing about this game, they are really something. A 9.5 outta 10 and only reason its not a ten is because a ten is actual 3d cinema movie quality. The gameplay is really great too, smooth with no glitches and a really big racing map to choose from, I give it a 8. They have switched to Criterion which is the maker of Burnout, so if your playing and you notice the familiar takedowns and the like and your thinkinh NFS is trying to rip off BO, don't think it because the makers of BO are making this NFS. I don't like the fact that you cannot customize your car in any way, except the color and there only a select few for each car. So, if your like me and love racing games with customizable cars like Forza Motorsports or the older NFS: Undergrouds, then I wouldnt recommend this game. But if your contempt with great graphics and solid gameplay but metocor and below average uniqueness this you might wanna try this game out.

Finally, Hot Pursuit 2 returns the NFS legacy back to it's original roots. Aracde-style racing with police chases. Exotic cars that you can drive 200mph and still manage to drift around corners.
Of course, there are complaints. Why is the steering so heavy? Trying to move these cars even into the next lane while going 120mph is like trying to get them unstuck from molasses. You see a shortcut on the right and you try to exit but wait, why is my car barely moving? Then you crash. Trying to avoid hitting innocent civilian vehicles is agonizingly difficult when you're already into triple digit speed. Also, the AI is TOO good. The AI opponents you'll race against never seem to have a problem steering quickly or avoiding roadblocks. Also, they never seem to run out of steam. I'll maneuver a curve perfectly and even use my nitrous on the exit and yet, look, there goes my opponents - each one passing me with ease. My last complaint is that the cars drift TOO easily. The game advises you to "not drift if you don't have to. It's faster if you don't." Well, in any vehicle in this game if you take a turn hard, your car will automatically enter into a drift. You don't even really have a chance to let your tires grip. The only way to counter this would be to slam on your brakes and slow the car significantly before turning, but as I mentioned before, the opponents would finish the race while you were still mid-turn.
All in all, though - an excellent arcade racing game.
