Visuals/Sound:
Looks amazing. They nailed the anime style and anyone whose into the show will be pleased. If you're not into anime its still impressive looking. The graphics are bright, smooth and the textures are above average. The music is nothing you'll remember and it would have been cool if they could have used the soundtrack from the show, but its not bad either. Both the English and Japanese voice actors are present and you can switch based on your preference.
Lasting Value:
The multiplayer is mostly unchanged, but playing with 72 characters will make the novelty last a bit longer. Most of the characters play the same so only fans of the show will find any real lasting appeal. There is a heavier focus on single player this time with the addition of survival mode and tournaments.
Gameplay:
Its a bit more fast paced compared to the previous game, which is a good thing. The fights are fateful to the source material and actually rather addictive.
Story:
This is the game's low point in my opinion. As a fan of the series I wish we could have seen completely cinematic cut scenes. There are cut scenes with actual animation from the show but more often the story is recited to us by an overly poetic narrator. Its really boring. I ended up skipping these "cut scenes" since I knew the story anyway but I gotta imagine, for someone that's never read or seen Naruto, these cut scenes would bore them to the point of not even caring. Last year's Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 was much better at storytelling then this.
Still as far as anime games go, this one is really good. Most of them are just cheap cash ins on a popular series (Dragonball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi)
