I seriously expected more from this game, with all the details and graphics they put into this game they could have done ALOT better.

For one the story mode is WAY to short i had a better time playing ultimate ninja storm 2 than this one. im not gonna give away anything but the story mode is short i blew threw it in 45 minutes to an hour as with storm 2 it took me weeks to complete the story mode.

besides the awsome variety of characters some have repeat ultimate jutsus from storm 2, but i also feel that there could have been more jinchuriki's than naruto and killer bee.

After you beat the story mode and go into versus mode which will be more fun with a human counterpart, after playing with all the characters you will pretty much be doing the same thing the rest of the game...brawling with 72 naruto characters.

they could have added the giant boss battles as most naruto games are famous for but once again another let down.

i suggest you only rent this not buy, i mean its great for the kids who have nothing better to do outside of versus mode.

i did enjoy it for the first hour and the versus mode but other than that my dreams for the perfect naruto game have been crushed yet again.

if your like the show then the game will definitely tickle your fancy. loads of unlockables and a ton of Fan service, the fighting system is simple enough for kids to play it and make progress in the game, but at the same time there are features you can use and unlock that take the game play deeper, such as ninja tools, selecting support characters and a combo system that if you time your combo and hit a direction the combo changes, all around if your not a Naruto fan, I give this a 4.5 but if your a naruto fan like me it rockets up to a solid 8.5

Visuals/Sound:
Looks amazing. They nailed the anime style and anyone whose into the show will be pleased. If you're not into anime its still impressive looking. The graphics are bright, smooth and the textures are above average. The music is nothing you'll remember and it would have been cool if they could have used the soundtrack from the show, but its not bad either. Both the English and Japanese voice actors are present and you can switch based on your preference.

Lasting Value:
The multiplayer is mostly unchanged, but playing with 72 characters will make the novelty last a bit longer. Most of the characters play the same so only fans of the show will find any real lasting appeal. There is a heavier focus on single player this time with the addition of survival mode and tournaments.

Gameplay:
Its a bit more fast paced compared to the previous game, which is a good thing. The fights are fateful to the source material and actually rather addictive.

Story:
This is the game's low point in my opinion. As a fan of the series I wish we could have seen completely cinematic cut scenes. There are cut scenes with actual animation from the show but more often the story is recited to us by an overly poetic narrator. Its really boring. I ended up skipping these "cut scenes" since I knew the story anyway but I gotta imagine, for someone that's never read or seen Naruto, these cut scenes would bore them to the point of not even caring. Last year's Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 was much better at storytelling then this.

Still as far as anime games go, this one is really good. Most of them are just cheap cash ins on a popular series (Dragonball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi)
