Amazing game. But it's still feels like it's missing a bit. And who came up with fixed camera angels on the story mode?

Well I can tell you right now, this game was nowhere near what the fans tried to trump it up to be.

Besides being based on what is arguably the WORST part of the anime series, known for being filled with plotholes and trying to portray Sasuke, who's become downright evil and despicable in a sympathetic light even now, and even changing it's own rules about what a jutsu can or cannot do, about the fact that when a jinchuuriki loses their demon, they die instantly for the sake of one plot point, and even the main villain's motive makes little sense at all. needless to say, I had low expectations for this.

Then upon playing the demo, well... my expectations were met. It's the same kind of game. Same kind of gameplay. the jutsus have no "Oomph" to them at all, the Ultimate Jutsus are now ridiculously underdone, and at least in the story mode, they're cutscenes with timed button-press input.

THEN come to find out something they changed that actually DOWNGRADED this from the original! In the ORIGINAL UNS, you had to acquire a certain amount of points to advance the story. to get these points, you took on side missions- the harder the mission, the more points it was worth, until you had enough that you could chose to advance or try to store some up to make the next advancement come more quickly. But now... you have to complete all of the side missions. Bar none. You cannot advance until you have them ALL done, meaning hours of tedious gameplay that doesn't help advance the plot and kills replay value.

Plus, some of the more intense battles, such as Naruto's 4 Tails form facing Orochimaru, have been altered. You're not controlling the powerful beast as he faces Orochimaru... you're aiming, firing blasts at him. It's become a virtual mini-game.

Bottom line, if you're a fan of fighting games, it may be worth a rental when not so high in demand. but it's certainly not worth rushing out for, nor is it worth $60 at the video game store. I'd pass unless very bored. 4/10
