When I saw Pac-Man that I go put in my pocket and play wherever I go, I was excited. I love playing old style games from when I was young. The games included are great adaptations of the aracde classics, and you can even tweak settings that let you start with extra lives and such. However, the things that really got me down on this game is not any limitations of the game, it is the limitations of the DS. I quickly found out that the Dpad just doesn't come close to having the right feel to it when you need to get around that tight corner here and there at the exact split second you need it to. You just can't replace the hair trigger controls of a joystick when playing these games. I can get used to playing Galaga without the spinning ball, but the Dpad on PacMan just doesn't cut it for the reactions that I have instilled in me from years of playing PacMan. This game is good in short spurts, but if you are really deadset on reliving the feeling of getting serious about these games and making it past the first few levels, then the DS version really isn't going to give you the experience that you want. I was really disappointed when I finally came to the realization of this because I really wanted this to work. Unfortunately, these games on most any other platform would most likely come out way better.
