NHL 11 for PlayStation 3 Reviews by Gamers

NHL11 is a very good game...hence the 9 I gave it. The improved faceoff system, the hitting and shooting engine improvements, catchy soundtrack, and the general awesomeness of hockey make this game worth getting.

I love what EA has done with the NHL franchise. I love hockey and each year they make it more and more realistic and fun to play. However, I do have some beef with this game. EA included celebrations in this game...while it is a good attempt at providing custom celebrations, it falls short and the celebrations get very old and lame after awhile. NHL11 needs to follow the path of FIFA and its large encyclopedia of usable celebrations.

My other problem with this game (and the past NHL games) is that there is no player tendencies. Most of the players fell the same. My boy Pat Kane should not feel the same as sharpshooter Patrick Sharp. You can fell that Kane is faster but that is about the only difference. EA needs to include player tendencies and moves in next years installment.

My complaints aside, this game rocks and I would recommend to any hockey fan or anyone trying to get into hockey.

The only down side I saw or felt was in the Be A Pro mode! I did n't like that I couldn't actually speak to the coach directly or eve nto my agent to suggest being traded or moved up into the 2nd or 3rd lines. Also even though I lead the league in goals, assists, and points I had 3 or 4 games I simulated and my created player only scored one goal and had 2 assists in the 4 games but was sent down to the minors for lack of production??? Might I add just after I played as the only player from my team in the allstar game!!
Outside of this frustrating part of Be A Pro the game play was amazing and extremely realistic, the AI for both the players teammates and the cpu you are playing against were very good and teams actually game planned for you and carried out those game plans. Graghically this game was very well done also! From the crowd to the puck going into the back of the net EA was spot on and gave me everything I needed including the puck bouncing off the goalee's pads into the net to make me want to buy, keep and play over and over again NHL11.

I give this game for all Hockey enthusiasts a strong A- to A.
